Un’asta da brivido sta per partire a novembre da Sotheby’s, la più grande casa d’asta del Regno Unito. Si tratta delle opere – circa 300 – della collezione privata di David Bowie, scomparso nel gennaio 2016.
Nell’elenco delle opere in vendita ci sono capolavori firmati da Damien Hirst, Henry Moore e Marcel Duchamp. Prima di essere battuta all’asta, la collezione d’arte – di cui Bowie andava molto fiero – sarà mostrata in pubblico; la collezione ha un valore di circa 10 milioni di sterline.
In particolare, tra le opere c’è anche un pezzo di “A Bruit Secret”di Duchamp che potrebbe essere battuto intorno alle 250mila sterline. Il lotto più prezioso è tuttavia considerato quello di Jean-Michel Basquiat, con “Air Power”, acquistato dal cantante dopo aver interpretato il ruolo di Andy Warhol, nel film del 1996 “Basquiat”. L’opera ha attualmente un valore stimato stimato tra 2,5 e 3 milioni di sterline.
